Fair play 絕對公平

Emily and Luke, analysts at a cutthroat hedge fund company, are secretly dating without their colleagues' knowledge. During his brother's wedding, Luke proposes to Emily, and after a moment's hesitation, she happily accepts.

The next day at work, one of the company's portfolio managers is fired. Emily overhears some colleagues discussing that Luke is being considered for the vacant position, and thinking that Luke might be promoted, they celebrate that night. At a late-night meeting with the firm's CEO, she learns that she, not Luke, will be promoted to the role. Though conflicted, she shares the news with Luke, who initially expresses his support.

As Emily settles into her new job, Luke's resentment over not being promoted becomes increasingly apparent, leading to tensions in their relationship. While out for drinks with senior executives, Emily learns that the CEO, Campbell, wants to get rid of Luke, considering him ineffectual. She attempts to advocate more for Luke in the workplace, but her efforts backfire when he makes a poor trading call, losing the company $25 million. In response, Campbell criticizes her harshly.
